My Kenetrek story started in 2006, not long after Kenetrek was formed. I needed a mountain hunting boot that could keep my feet working in all terrain and all conditions. That first pair has finally been retired, sitting on my boot rack as an emergency backup.

Hunting has taken me to the Wrangell’s in Alaska, the black soil of Mississippi, the deserts of Arizona, the sage basins of Wyoming, the alpine of Colorado, the lonely Yukon, and most places in between. The common denominator in every hunt has been my Kenetrek boots, whether elk, mule deer, caribou, moose, or pronghorn.
I’ve spent time with Jim and Bob, Kenetrek’s founders. The statement, “A company and a product is an expression of the founders” surely holds true in this case. Both of these hunters have been on hunts that test hunters and their gear to limits far beyond the norm. Their relentless pursuit for adventure is found in Kenetrek boots.
With over one hundred days per year spent in my Kenetreks, I’m putting my feet through hundreds of difficult miles each season, usually with a pack full of gear. My feet are critical to a successful season in the mountains, making my boots one of my most important pieces of gear. I take my feet, and my boots, seriously. That’s why I have been using Kenetrek boots for almost twenty years.
