"I have had 4 pairs of Kenetrek Mountain Extreme boots over the last 10 years or so and have liked them. The sole has worn out in the toe area before any other trouble. For some reason the Guide Ultras are hurting my Ahcihlies tendons. Perhaps because they are so stiff?"

"I wear these boots 365 days a year. I have a bad ankle that needs support and these boots do exactly that. They are super stiff but very comfortable. I get 2 years out of them doing construction work and hunting in the fall before wearing the sole slick. As long as I keep them on my feet, life is good. From time to time, my feet get hot and I’ll put on something else, but by the end of the day I have my Kenetrek’s back on. They ya’ll for building such a good boot. Cody Redden"

"Phenomenal boots. I got tired of mid-tier boots not holding up, so I decided to go big. I tried a bunch of the best Italian and German manufactured boots, and Kenetrek was one of only two brands that fit my foot comfortably with no slippage like a normal American boot. The mid-soles and uppers (even without the staves) on these were both stiffer than the other brand, so in my view superior for steep and rocky country. What really sold these, however, is the ankle staves. They are a GAME-CHANGER. Having sprained my ankles badly three times in the past, these were a ticket to brand-new confidence while negotiating rough terrain. The staves give you extreme torsional stability and are generally not uncomfortable. After you get used to them, you really don't notice they are there UNTIL you take a bad step and they save you from rolling your ankle and getting to limp 10 miles out of the wilderness with a ruined hunt or backpacking trip. The soles are great with plenty of traction (even when wet) and enough rigidity in the mid-sole to allow you to put all your weight (and that of your pack) on the point of a rock while barely even feeling it. Durability seems to be good so far as well, even though I've put a beating on them. I can't say enough good things about these boots. Bought a second set as backup, even though I winced a bit at the price of the first set. They are great. Best non-insulated boot on the market today. Thanks Kenetrek!!!"
