Worth the extra cost.

"Comfortable from very first day in woods hunting for grouse in all types of weather conditions and terrain. A great boot"
"The best boots I’ve ever owned."
"The Mountain Guide group of projects stand out way beyond any boot for support, durability and overall performance. Whatever you throw at it the Mountain Guide will handle."
"The are comfortable, with great support, very well made and have the right amount of insulation for my uses."
"This is my 3rd set of Kenetrek Mountain Guide 400 boots. They have held up great over the years…with many miles/years on each pair. You can’t go wrong with Kenetrek."
"Most comfortable boot i own!!"
"Took a brand new pair to the north slope of Alaska and they did well. It was wet all day every day and my feet stayed dry. They provided great support for walking in the uneven tundra. Outperformed the boots of two other brands that my buddies had during the trip. Highly recommend them."
"This is me second pair of Kenetrek boots. Both function perfectly for their intended use. No complaints!"
"Quality and boot construction are still top notch. There is a difference in the comfort and ride quality of the Mountain Guide. I spent 10 years wearing the Mountain Extreme Elk hunting in the Bridger National Forest. I wanted to "upgrade" and switched to the Mountain Guide. I will be going back to the Mountain Extreme. For me, the Guide is less comfortable even with the Superfeet Hike Cushion insoles. The difference is the heavy-duty one-piece outsole which is more heavy duty and appears to remove the cushion between the leather upper and the outsole. Your foot and ankle still feel super secure and locked into the upper. However, walking is just not as enjoyable in the Guides. The weight does take more out of your legs over time. This is especially noticeable if you are a full-time desk worker and part time elk hunter. Lighter boots are easier to wear all day. I will be going back to the Mountain Extremes. I just can't justify the lack of comfort for the additional durability the Guide outsole brings."
