"Whether men's or women's boots, Kenetrek, particularly the Mountain Extremes, are the best in the industry. I and all of my friends and family are now converted die hard Trekers and trust me, those of us in Wyoming know mountain boots. Brian H. Cody Wy."
"Why are my feet hard to fit? Rheumatoid Arthritis, narrow, bony, none of the normal fat pads on the soles of my feet, high arches, very sensitive to pressure on the dorsum of my right foot, & painful when standing & walking. Finding shoes of any kind that fit & aren't painful is a miserable & lengthy experience. My husband recommended these boots to me, as he was familiar with them. I have been using mid-priced boots by a good manufacturer, but need to doctor them up by adding lambswool padding in multiple places & modifying lacing technique. Another pair that were supposedly insulated were inadequate - my feet got cold when in below freezing temps. My ankles are bony & bruise easily with what I call "concrete" boots - super stiff. I ordered 2 sizes of these Kenetrek boots; 7. 5 & 8. The 8 was recommended by the fit tool on the Kenetrek website. I've never worn an 8, so also ordered the 7. 5. The 7. 5 fit perfectly! They hugged my ankles without bruising. The top of my right foot is very sensitive to pressure from having multiple fractures 7 years ago, so I added pressure-relieving lambswool at the tongue, which fixed that issue. I followed the recommendations to gradually break them in, which I did around the house at first, then out in the community. You can modify the lacing technique at first, and then resume a normal pattern once they are more broken in. I have not tried hiking, as I am working up to it. We are near the Smoky Mtns & with RA, I have to take it very slow. If I overdo, I can be off my feet for a week or longer. I've worn these boots in weather down in the low 20's F and they are warm. I am very happy with these boots and would recommend them to others with both normal feet & difficult feet. Good support without that feeling like having concrete around my ankles. The heel counter hugs my narrow heel and the arch support is great. I love that they are leather instead of "vegan leather", which is another name for "plastic". Leather always works best for me. They have proven to be waterproof too. I will probably buy another pair without insulation for warm weather use. Lastly, I purchased these using a GovX discount, for which I an extremely grateful. I couldn't have purchased them without it. A HUGE thank you to Kenetrek for providing this to military & their dependents. #besthikingboots"
