"I have put 60 to 70 miles in my boots in the two months since I received them. I can now give an honest review as someone who lives, hikes, and hunts in some tough areas of Wyoming. The leather uppers are much too soft for any support for such a heavy lugged stiff sole. The soles do offer good traction, but with such flimsy uppers they cannot be called a mountain boot. I’m 6’2” and 200, in decent shape, my normal pack for shed hunting and hunting is around 25lbs. So I was very disappointed in the combination of a serious(and very heavy) sole, but backed with such a flimsy leather upper. They are easy to put on, but maybe that is where Kenetrek made the sacrifice, an expensive boot made for the “dudes” traveling to hunt in the west that can’t bend over to pull a pair of boots on. So if you put miles in sagebrush, dark timber, and rocky steep slopes like I do, I cannot recommend this boot. If you’re a slightly overweight, out of shape sales rep coming for your guided hunt, these will be easy for you to put on while someone is making your breakfast and you can brag to your friends about how much they cost. Please Kenetrek, change the name from mountain guide boot to Bozeman “dude” boot."
