"Fit great"
"these boots are very sturdy and warm!! I love them. . . they kept my feet well protected while caribou hunting in Alaska- north of Nome."
"It is Spring in the mountains of NE OR. In my line of work, that means you end up trekking through snow, mud, rock, and snowmelt streams in a day. Yesterday was especially brutal. As I post-holed up to my a-hole on 45% slopes of dense second growth, I was incredibly grateful for these boots. Even though they are not insulated, my feet stayed dry and warm. They have also been comfy from the start. No break in needed. Yes, they are expensive, but worth it if you need a high-performing boot and you want it to last."
"I am a professional forester and a hunter. I hike for work and for fun over some pretty rough terrain in varying weather conditions. I really like these boot I wore lowas for about 9 years but I’m happy to have tried something new. Don’t lace them too tight. Plenty of support and really good traction but at a really light weight. No problem with waterproofness when hiking through wetlands, mud, and snow."
"The boots are the most comfortable that I've ever had the opportunity to wear. They have excellent traction and give great stability when hiking in the mountains."
"After having broke my foot and toes, I’ve been looking for a good hiking boot with a good base foundation (they are not easy to come by) - but FINALLY I found what my foot needed with Kenetrek's Women’s Mountain Extreme NI. I do not do mountain climbing, but I do tread very uneven terrain every morning for a few hours, and these are perfect. Honestly, other footwear literally killed my feet (and legs}. I have very narrow heels and was told that heel slipping is fairly common until broken in. It does appear to be getting better, and my foot is feeling more seated every day. They were very rigid right out of the box - the wax and daily hikes are softening them very nicely. I like these SO well, that i also bought a 1000 gram insulated pair for this upcoming winter. i had a few questions, and customer service is superb. I wipe them down daily to see if the lighter color is dust or needed wax - so far I’ve not needed to redo wax (it’s been dust). Exceptional quality on Kenetrek’s footwear, socks AND wax."
"Immediate comfort right out of the box. Got these for my wife. Smallest size Kenetrek makes and thankfully they are perfect. She says they are “clunky” but she’s just getting used to them. She has enough miles on them now that I did a complete wax job on them using the Kenetrek wax and that makes them ultra-soft. The leather used in these is the best there is. Nice construction. Very bulletproof design that really works. Good job Kenetrek for making your family boot for women too."
"These are by far the best womens boot out there! Great traction, durable and a perfect fit! Thank you for a superior product!"
"I used to have a pair of Schnee's Women's Beartooth boots. I used them for about 3 years, and they were still in good condition when I gave them to a friend. They had no break-in period and never gave me blisters; however, the tongue material was so thick that I could never "lock in" my ankle well enough. I was sold on the Schnee's design of the clasps that clamp down on the laces, but over time it will cut the laces. Trying these Kenetreks on in the store, I thought I found the perfect fit! Reviews say "virtually no break-in period." Knowing better, I spent 2 weeks hiking roughly 2 miles a day to break them in before elk camp. But good lord, did these boots break ME in at elk camp. I had to bandage my feet every day in multiple places, mostly the heels. If I laced tight, the part where the rubber meets the leather would cut in the back of my ankle as I made my stride. If I laced loosely, my heel would slip up and down out of the pocket - causing friction and more blisters. I think I clenched my toes to avoid using my heels, which caused toe blisters. After another 70+ miles at elk camp, they finally fit me. I still don't trust a good 10 or 12 mile hike in these. I will add that they traction is insane. Side hills, slick terrain, rocks, cliffs - none stand a chance. I never once lost my footing. Ankle support is unrivaled. Feet stayed dry from creek crossings and rainy conditions. If your feet sweat a lot, bring another pair of socks on your journey because they don't breathe much. For reference, I often hike off-trail in various terrain (from Western WA cascades, to Northern ID, and Central MT). I am 5'3" 130lbs. I am typically between sizes, usually between an 8 and 8.5. I have narrow, flat feet with high arches. Would not advise these for wide feet persons. I let the sales associate at Schnee's talk me into a 9 to avoid toe jamming downhill (wish I stuck with an 8). My Kenetreks are size 8 (the sales associate suggested a 9) and I wish I went with an 8.5 as they are narrower and more snug than Schnee's. I was maybe presumptuous sizing down the Kenetreks since they seem to be a similar style boot. No toe jamming but wondering if the heel would have fit better? Regardless, there is a stitched seam down the back of the ankle that is raised and appears to be the source of my discomfort."
"Awesome boots! I have 3 pairs, insulated, non insulated and Hard Tactical. They all fit perfect, they are super comfortable and durable. Never going back to cheap “1 year” boots. I’m saving money in the long run purchasing Kenetrek quality boots over buying cheap boots that wear out in a year, over and over again. Kenetrek have a little break in period but they have never given me a blister or hot spot. I’m an avid hunter with my husband and also work in the LE field. He has two pairs and we are both very happy with Kenetrek boots. (For the women I wear size 7 and purchased Mens size 5 in the hard tactical and they fit perfect)."
