That's why we made the Guide Ultra, a hybrid hunter that borrows some of our EverStep® technology to give you an ultra-support system, double durability and the all-day comfort of a Kenetrek. We've added our EverStep® removable support system to the uppers of our classic Guide Boot, and paired it with our one-piece, deep lug traction, super-stable K-73™ outsole. Whether you're challenged with ankle issues or just need something stiffer that's waterproof and moves from snow to rocky terrain in total comfort - look no further. 4.8 lbs. Made in Italy. "I have broken both ankles. I have had to have surgery and a cable ran through my bones to help support my ankle from rolling. I have used many boots to help keep my ankles from rolling but nothing really helped I needed something sturdy. These boots are STURDY! I have used them at work and in the woods and when I wear them i am confident my ankles are secure! I won’t be wearing anything else."

10 days in the high country
"Have a disease that has left me with paralysis in my ankles. To go out into the high country I require a very high quality ankle supporting boot. I originally purchased the non-insulated EverStep. I have had it for 6 years and recently just resold them. At the Utah sportsman's expo this year I allowed the salesman to talk me into purchasing the 400 g guide boot. Best decision I have ever made. After 8 extreme days logging over 160 mi of hiking and horseback in snow and wet situations these boots have performed incredibly well. I also recently purchased the crispy guide boot because they too said they had the ankle bone support system. What I found is that the crispy guide boot is notably lighter. Almost to the point that it was refreshing to go from the guide ultra to the crispy boot. As soon as I got into rough Rocky uneven country it became absolutely apparent that I did not have equal support to my ankles. Hands down the guide ultra gives the absolute most ankle support without restricting movement. I found that it required more break-in time but ultimately is the most comfortable boot for aggressive hill climbing in rocky uneven ground. My feet stayed completely dry well traversing rivers snow and frost-covered grass. I wore kuiu Yukon Gators most of the time. I cannot emphasize enough the quality and durability that needs boots are built with. I will accept the added weight all day long for the incredible stability that they offer. The pounding of the downhill on the balls of my feet were completely absorbed through the soles of these boots. With my other lighter weight boots with a less stiff soul The balls of my feet became raw over 8 to 10 mi of hiking. The difference is became night and day. I cannot express my appreciation to kenetrek enough. They have given me my freedom back I can walk on uneven ground without the fear of rolling my ankles and destroying the tendons in ligaments. My left ankle has been reconstructed three times and my right twice. They have had to use cadaver ligaments to replace mine because the tearing has been so bad. Since the purchase of my original non-insulated EverStep I have not rolled an ankle. Thank you again kenetrek."
